Where can I see a hand surgeon near North Richland Hills?

In short

North Richland Hills patients are seen at The Hand and Wrist Institute's Southlake office at 510 E Southlake Blvd. The approach is north on TX-26 or on Davis Blvd, which is FM 1938, up to FM 1709, the road signed as E Southlake Blvd. Dr. John T. Knight is the practice's only surgeon.

Which office serves North Richland Hills, and the drive

Southlake. North Richland Hills sits south of Southlake inside Loop 820, and there are two ordinary ways north.

TX-26, signed as Grapevine Highway through much of North Richland Hills, runs northeast and reaches FM 1709 by way of Colleyville. Davis Blvd, which carries the FM 1938 designation, runs more directly north and meets FM 1709 nearer the office. Which one is faster depends on where in the city you start and what Loop 820 is doing that day.

North Richland Hills is also on the TEXRail line, which is worth knowing for a patient who would rather not drive at all. Confirm the current stations and connections before relying on it, and allow for the last leg from the station to the office.

What the visit involves

X-rays are taken in the Southlake office and you review them with Dr. Knight minutes later, in the same visit.

If the exam points to something an X-ray will not show, an MRI or other advanced imaging is done at an imaging facility a few blocks from the office and the results come back to Dr. Knight. Where the diagnosis is not clear from the exam, Dr. Knight will arrange nerve testing and tell you where it is done.

If an operation is the answer, surgery is performed at Legent Hospital in Plano, Texas.

Conditions treated for North Richland Hills patients

The practice treats the hand, the wrist and the elbow, and nothing else.

Workers' compensation cases are handled by the practice, and North Richland Hills sends a steady share of hand injuries from trades and warehouse work rather than from sport.

What do North Richland Hills patients ask us?

Is there a hand surgeon's office in North Richland Hills?

No. Patients are seen at the Southlake office. There is no North Richland Hills clinic and this page does not claim one.

I went to an urgent care and the X-ray was normal, but my wrist still hurts. What now?

That is a common and legitimate reason to see a hand surgeon. A normal first X-ray does not rule out a scaphoid fracture or a torn ligament, and there is a whole page on exactly that.

Do you take X-rays in the office?

Yes, in the Southlake office, and you review them with Dr. Knight in the same visit.

Where is surgery done?

At Legent Hospital in Plano, Texas.

Where would you be seen?

The Hand and Wrist Institute has one surgeon, so the person you book with is the person who examines you and the person who operates. Surgery is done at Legent Surgical Hospital in Plano, Texas.
