What do patients ask us before they come in?
Do you take X-rays in the office?
Yes, at both our Southlake and Dallas offices. X-rays are taken when they are needed and you look at them with Dr. Knight the same visit. If you need an MRI or other advanced imaging, it is done at an imaging facility a few blocks from the Southlake office and the results come back to Dr. Knight.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Your photo ID, your insurance card, a list of the medicines you take, and any X-rays, scans or notes from another doctor about this hand or wrist. Older imaging is still worth bringing, so bring the scan from five years ago if it is of this hand. If the injury happened at work, bring the claim number and your employer’s contact.
Do I need a referral?
Most patients book with us directly. Some insurance plans require a referral from your primary care doctor before they will cover a specialist visit, so it is worth checking your plan. Call (817) 382-6789 and we will help you work out what your plan needs.
What insurance do you take?
We take most major plans, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, United Healthcare, Medicare and Medicare Advantage, Tricare and workers’ compensation. Plans change, so call (817) 382-6789 with your card and we will verify your benefits before your visit.
How soon can I be seen?
Same day appointments are often available at both offices. Call (817) 382-6789 and we will tell you the first opening in Southlake and in Dallas, or book yourself online.
What happens if I call after hours?
After hours a call goes to our new patient voicemail and our team picks it up the next working day. Our phones are also staffed at the weekend, and you can book online at any hour, 7 days a week. If something is urgent, say so in the message and we will get it to Dr. Knight.
